What the Tour Includes

What a Madinah Ziyarat Tour by Private Car Includes

A Madinah Ziyarat tour is a private visit by car to the places linked to the life of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and his Companions. Online Umrah Taxi runs it as a round trip from your hotel near Masjid an-Nabawi. The car carries only your group, so you set the pace.

The standard Madinah Ziyarat starts at 200 SAR in a Toyota Camry and usually takes around 3 hours. The fare covers the whole car, so a family of four pays the same as a couple. Larger groups choose a bigger vehicle from the fare table below. Groups of 8 or more can plan their vehicles on our umrah group transport page.

The standard route usually covers Masjid Quba, Masjid al-Qiblatain, Mount Uhud with the martyrs’ cemetery, and Jabal al-Rumah. It also passes the Seven Mosques with Masjid al-Fath, Masjid al-Jumu’ah, and a date farm or date market. The exact order depends on traffic and prayer times, and the team confirms it on WhatsApp.

Your driver parks close to each place and waits while you visit and pray, make du’a or simply sit for a moment. You do not need to find a new taxi between stops. When the last stop is done, the driver brings you back to your hotel or the nearest permitted drop-off point.

Ziyarat is not one of the rites of Umrah or Hajj. It is a visit many pilgrims value for remembrance and reflection. For any question about the virtues of a place, please ask your scholar.

Stops on Your Route

The Stops on Your Madinah Ziyarat Tour

These are the stops on the standard Madinah Ziyarat tour. Each one has its own story from the early years of Islam. Here is what happened there, and what to expect when you step out of the car. Before the tour, you can read about Quba, Qiblatain, Uhud and the old wells one by one in our Madinah and Makkah place guides.

Masjid Quba

Masjid Quba is widely described as the first mosque built in Islam, raised when the Prophet (peace be upon him) arrived in Madinah on the Hijrah. A narration in Ibn Majah (1412, graded hasan) says that whoever purifies himself at home, then comes to Masjid Quba and prays there, receives the reward of an Umrah. Many pilgrims make wudu at the hotel for this reason, and your scholar can explain the details. The mosque has separate prayer areas for women.

Masjid al-Qiblatain

Masjid al-Qiblatain means “the mosque of the two qiblas”. Islamic tradition holds that the command to turn the qibla from Jerusalem to the Ka'bah in Makkah came here, during a prayer. Pilgrims usually stop to pray and see the white building with its twin minarets. The stop is often short, and your driver waits nearby.

Mount Uhud and the Martyrs' Cemetery

Mount Uhud is the mountain north of Madinah where the Battle of Uhud took place. The Uhud martyrs' cemetery at its foot holds the graves of the Companions who fell there, including Hamzah ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him), the uncle of the Prophet (peace be upon him). The graves are usually seen from behind a fence. Visitors stand quietly, and many make du'a for the martyrs.

Jabal al-Rumah (the Archers' Hill)

Jabal al-Rumah is the small hill facing Mount Uhud where the Prophet (peace be upon him) placed his archers during the battle. The archers' decision to leave their position changed the course of the day, and the lesson is often retold here. Some pilgrims climb a short way up for the view. Others prefer to watch from the ground, and that is fine.

The Seven Mosques and Masjid al-Fath

The Seven Mosques (Saba Masajid) stand near the site of the Battle of the Trench (Khandaq). Masjid al-Fath is the best known of them, on the slope where the Prophet (peace be upon him) is reported to have made du'a during the siege. By tradition, the smaller mosques carry the names of Companions such as Salman al-Farsi (may Allah be pleased with him). The area is compact, so it suits a short walk.

Masjid al-Jumu'ah

By tradition, Masjid al-Jumu'ah marks the place where the Prophet (peace be upon him) led his first Friday prayer, on the way from Quba into Madinah. It lies close to the Quba area, so the driver often includes it near the start or end of the route. It is a calm stop for a short prayer.

Timing & Planning

How Long the Madinah Ziyarat Takes and the Best Time to Go

The standard Madinah Ziyarat usually takes around 3 hours from hotel pickup to drop-off. Longer routes with extra places take more time. The team confirms the expected timing on WhatsApp when you book.

Time at each stop varies with traffic, crowds and how long you pray. A quick stop at Masjid al-Qiblatain can take only a few minutes, while Masjid Quba and Mount Uhud often take longer. Tell the team if you want more time at one place, and the plan is adjusted before pickup.

Many pilgrims start the Madinah Ziyarat in the early morning, after Fajr or after sunrise. The air is cooler then, the roads are usually quieter, and you are back before the midday heat. In the summer months, Madinah can be very hot by late morning.

The Prophet (peace be upon him) is reported to have visited Masjid Quba on Saturdays, so some pilgrims choose a Saturday morning tour. On Fridays, many pilgrims prefer to be back at Masjid an-Nabawi early for Jumu’ah. If a prayer time falls during the tour, you can pray at one of the mosques on the route.

Online cab services through safe and clean Toyota Camry, Hyundai Staria, Toyota Hiace, and GMC Yukon for Hajj & Umrah pilgrims in Makkah, Madinah, Jeddah, Taif, and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Dates & Walking Visits

Date Farms by Car, Jannat al-Baqi and Al-Ghamamah on Foot

The Madinah Ziyarat usually ends with a date farm or a date market. Madinah is known for its dates, especially Ajwa, and many pilgrims buy boxes to take home as gifts. Buying dates is your choice. Any purchase is paid to the seller and is not part of the taxi fare.

Jannat al-Baqi is the main cemetery of Madinah, beside Masjid an-Nabawi. Many members of the family of the Prophet (peace be upon him) and many Companions are buried there. Jannat al-Baqi is within walking distance of the mosque, so pilgrims usually visit it on foot rather than by car.

Access to Jannat al-Baqi is managed by the authorities and is usually limited to certain times of day. Entry arrangements for women can differ from those for men. Please check the current times at Masjid an-Nabawi, because they can change.

Masjid al-Ghamamah stands a short walk from Masjid an-Nabawi. It is associated with the Eid prayer and the prayer for rain led by the Prophet (peace be upon him). Like Jannat al-Baqi, Masjid al-Ghamamah is usually visited on foot, so it is not a car stop on the tour.

Touring With Parents & Children

Slower Walkers and Young Children: A Car That Waits at Each Stop

A private Ziyarat car lets older parents and young children see the sites at their own pace. The car waits at each stop, so nobody is rushed back to a bus. You agree the fare and pickup time on WhatsApp before the day.

Your Driver Waits While You Pray

At Masjid Quba and each other stop, the driver parks nearby and waits until your group is ready.

Short Walks From the Car

The driver stops as close to each site as is permitted, which helps parents who walk slowly.

Skip or Shorten Any Stop

If a parent is tired, you can stay in the air-conditioned car at Jabal al-Rumah or leave out a stop.

Room for a Wheelchair

Mention a folding wheelchair or stroller when you book, so the team suggests a car with space for it.

Water and a Cool Car

Each Ziyarat car is air-conditioned and cleaned before the trip, with bottled water on board.

Book for Relatives From Abroad

You can book the Madinah Ziyarat for your parents and share their hotel and phone number with the team.

Add-ons & Next Steps

Wadi-e-Jinn, and Where to Go After Your Ziyarat

Wadi-e-Jinn, also called Wadi al-Baida, is a valley roughly 30 to 40 km north-west of Madinah. It is known for an optical “magnetic hill” effect, and the driver shows it only where it is safe. Read how that trip works on the Wadi e Jinn taxi page.

For short rides between hotels, mosques and stations in the city, see the Madinah taxi page.

Going on to Makkah? The Makkah Ziyarat taxi visits Jabal al-Nour, Arafat and the other historic places there.

For the full list of Ziyarat places in both holy cities, see the guide to Ziyarat places in Makkah and Madinah.

When your stay ends, the Madinah to Makkah taxi drives you roughly 450 km to your Makkah hotel, from 490 SAR in a Toyota Camry.

The Tour & the Stops

Madinah Ziyarat FAQs: Fares, Timing and Stops

The Madinah Ziyarat costs 200 SAR in a Toyota Camry, for the whole car and not per person. Larger vehicles cost more, up to 450 SAR for a Chevrolet Suburban. The fare includes pickup and return to your Madinah hotel.

The standard Madinah Ziyarat usually takes around 3 hours from pickup to drop-off. Traffic, crowds and time spent in prayer can make it a little shorter or longer. The team confirms the timing when you book.

Ask on WhatsApp before the day if you want extra time at Masjid Quba, Mount Uhud or another stop. The team confirms your expected timing and fixed fare before pickup. You then know the plan in advance.

The Madinah Ziyarat tour is private, so only your group rides in the car. The fare is for the whole vehicle, whether you fill one seat or all of them. You also choose your own pickup time.

The driver picks you up at your Madinah hotel. If cars cannot reach your hotel door near Masjid an-Nabawi, the team confirms the nearest permitted pickup point on WhatsApp. The tour ends back at the same place.

The standard tour usually covers Masjid Quba, Masjid al-Qiblatain, Mount Uhud and the martyrs' cemetery, and Jabal al-Rumah. It also includes the Seven Mosques with Masjid al-Fath, Masjid al-Jumu'ah, and a date farm or date market. The order of stops is confirmed on WhatsApp.

Yes. The Madinah Ziyarat taxi works as a private Madinah city tour of the historic places, and it costs 200 SAR per vehicle in a Toyota Camry. The usual stops are Masjid Quba, Masjid al-Qiblatain, Mount Uhud and the Seven Mosques. The driver waits while you visit, but the tour is not led by a licensed tour guide.

No, Wadi-e-Jinn is not part of the standard 200 SAR tour. The Madinah Ziyarat including Wadi-e-Jinn is a separate package, shown in the fare table above. The Wadi e Jinn taxi page explains the valley and the trip.

Yes, your driver waits at every stop on the Madinah Ziyarat while you visit and pray, from Masjid al-Qiblatain to Mount Uhud and the Seven Mosques. Your group keeps the same car for the whole tour. If you want extra time at one place, mention it when you book.

Many pilgrims prefer the early morning, after Fajr or after sunrise, when it is cooler and roads are usually quieter. A morning start also brings you back before the midday heat. Some pilgrims choose a Saturday morning for the Masjid Quba visit.

Jannat al-Baqi is beside Masjid an-Nabawi, so pilgrims usually walk there rather than drive. Access is managed by the authorities and is usually limited to certain times of day. Entry arrangements for women can differ, so check the current rules at the mosque.

Ask on WhatsApp, because places beyond the standard route, such as Badr, have no published fare. The team tells you whether the stop can be added and quotes a fixed price for your car. You agree that price before the day.

No, the Uhud martyrs' cemetery is at ground level, and climbing Jabal al-Rumah is optional. Some pilgrims walk a short way up the Archers' Hill for the view. Elderly visitors can stay by the car or in the air-conditioned vehicle.

Yes, the Madinah Ziyarat usually ends at a date farm or a date market, where many pilgrims buy Ajwa and other Madinah dates. You pay the seller directly, because dates are not part of the taxi fare. Tell the team if you would like extra time at this stop.

Booking, Families & Payment

Booking a Madinah Ziyarat Tour: Families, Payment and Changes

Ask on WhatsApp, because an airport pickup combined with a Ziyarat has no published fare. Many pilgrims first take the Madinah airport taxi to their hotel, drop their bags and book the Ziyarat for another time. The team can suggest a plan that suits your flight.

Yes, a private car suits elderly pilgrims because the driver stops as close as permitted to each site and waits. You can skip or shorten any stop if a parent gets tired. A GMC Yukon XL or Hyundai Staria gives more room to sit.

Yes, families and women travelling together can book the Madinah Ziyarat, and only your group rides in the car. You can also book the tour for a relative who is travelling. Share any requests with the team on WhatsApp before the day.

Online Umrah Taxi drivers speak English and Arabic and know the Ziyarat route well. They tell you the name of each place and help you find the entrance. For more history, read the notes on each stop above.

Your Madinah Ziyarat driver speaks English and Arabic. If you would like a driver who speaks another language, ask on WhatsApp when you book. The team tells you what is possible for your date.

Most bookings need no pre-payment. On the day, you hand the driver cash or use a secure online payment link. Your Ziyarat fare is fixed for the whole car and agreed on WhatsApp before the tour.

Yes, send a WhatsApp message to Online Umrah Taxi before your Ziyarat pickup time. Changing the day or cancelling before pickup costs nothing extra. The team then lets your driver know the new plan. The cancellation policy applies to a Madinah tour just as it does to any ride.
